Ch.21 Oath of the Brotherhood part 1

Entrance Exam Room

During Telepathic link, ” I am glad your alright. Based on your voice, it seems like you managed to have a fruitful hunt. Just come here in the entrance exam room. See you soon.”I sigh, ” He is on his way. He will be here in fifteen minutes.”

Darco laugh, ” It seems like I lose,” Draco flicked his finger and 5 small gold appeared on his hand and gave it to the mysterious guy, ” Thank you! I told you he will survive! So what do highest rank of rabbit you think he will be able to kill?”

Solaris raised his right hand and said, ” If he manage to kill a rank C alone then his highest rank kill will be rank B.” Lunaris nodded, ” I am with my brother. Even today, me and my brother have difficulty in killing rank AA rabbit, how much more when he is just alone.

Mimi and Kuru look at each other then Kuru hesitantly said, “Mimi and I believe that he can kill at least rank A alone.” Lunaris raised her brows, ” I doubt about it” Kuru became scared and look down. Lunaris felt guilyt and pet his head then he wagged his tail.

Aura knock and enter the room. Rita bowed and smile. Aura frowned, ” is there something wrong?” Rita shook her head, ” We were just guessing on the highest rank that Ajak may be able kill in the forest of silence.”

Mysterious mask guy glanced towards Aura, ” what do you think pointy ear? Aura stared towards the masked guy then she sigh, ” I don’t know. I can’t read him,” Everyone was shocked including Drek.

Drek was the first one who recovered, ” your eyesight talent is not working?” Aura grab the nearest chair and sigh, ” yes, it did not work on him. Although, its not the first time.” The mysterious mask guy grin, ” just as I thought. I was surprised that you provoke him few months ago.” Renan was shocked, ” Huh? I thought that was your attitude?” Aura smile, ” It is part of my attitude but not that extreme. Remember that  my affinity is miracles and Ice which attuned to clarity than chaos.

” Renan tilted, ” how does your eyesight work?” Aura casually respond, ” it allows me to approximately gauge how strong the person is. If I use my eyesight to one person now, it might have a different result by tomorrow. The problem with  Ajak is my eyesight stop immediately. It seems like he have the ability to counteract my talent. ”

Renan glance towards the mask guy, ” How did you know that Aura have an eyesight talent?” The mysterious mask guy smile, ” Draco, Rita, Aura and I were given a tasked by Drek a year ago. By using  her talent, we were able to destroy the based of the Blood Fang cult.” Renan gritted his teeth upon hearing the said cult then his eyes become sad. The masked guy frown behind his masked, ” Are you alright?” Renan faked smile, nodded and focus his attention towards Drek.

“So based only in your gut feeling, what is the highest rank that he killed?” Rita was asking Aura. Aura closed her eyes, ” My guess would be rank A if his alone.” Rita turn towards Renan, ” What about you?” Renan cleared his throat, ” Mine would be rank AAA.”

Drek smile, ” what is the basis that you think he can kill a class AAA? Even my guessed would be rank A and maximum would be AA.” Renan looked towards the ceiling and said, “I was with him when he killed the rank C. Remember, he was still level 0 back then. His swordsmanship is filled with deftness. Not just that, what I am surprised was his calmness.”

Drek nodded then a lady lizard came inside hurriedly and panic, ” Drek, you need to go to the trading hall. Garrel, is making trouble our appraiser Lenid.”

Renan stand up and run towards the trading hall. Drek hastily folowed Renan. He knows the relationship between Lenid and Renan. Renan treated Lenid as his father.

Aura sigh, ” Like master ,like follower.” She stand up and followed everyone.

When Drek arrived at the trading hall. Renan was already on the ground. He was restrained by the two subordinates of Garrel. Derek ran towards Renan’s direction, ” Garrel, you are not allowed to kill any members of the guild, that is a golden rule.” Garell smirked, ” and also any handler can’t interfere. Besides, according to the guide manual I can’t kill him but it does not mean that I can’t break some of his bones.” He stomp on its foot and Renan is forcing itself to get away, “No!” Lenid was crying for pain.

Draco flicked his finger and a two handed axe appear on his hand.  Garrel laugh, ” Its been awhile Draco.” then he look at the masked guy, ” Oh! your pet still alive?  Aura shouted, “Unless you want your clan and our clan to have war Draco, put your axe away.” Draco glared towards Aura then the mysterious masked guy tap his back.

Aura walk towards Draco’s position then she looked at Garrel,”Better stop this nonsense Garrel. Others may not be able to stop you but I can. ” Garrel laughed,” You can? How can a slut command me? I am the son of the 4th elder. Even if you are the daughter of the 3rd elder still everyone knows that your adopted!” Aura’s face become gloomy. It is true though. I don’t really have much power to the clan. I maybe able to contest with other women but not in men unless women in our clan reach the maturity of 2000. That would take me several years.

Kuru smile, ” his here!”

“Can you unrestrained Renan.” I said it calmly. I was 25 meters away from them. I went to the entrance exam room but I saw no one. The door   connected to the trading hall from the inside was locked so I got out and used the outside entrance near the stable area.

Garrel,” who the fuck are you?” I raised my left brow, ” I’m with Drek. Care to tell me why you inflict pain to that person” as I pointed Lenid. Gareth smirk then he scan me from my foot to my head and he said, ” Cheap armor….such pauper!  If this stupid scholar can’t see the difference, how much more you?”

Renan gritted his teeth, ” he is not stupid!”

I smile and said,” you might be surprise,” Garrel glared at me then he uses his skill on the pouch and hit my face. He laughed and said, ” This maggot here is telling me that, that is a night flower. I am positive that, that is a nightmare flower.

The moment I open the bag and I can already Identify what it is and just to male sure I check the back of the leaves.

I read this information from the botany book in the library.  Both flower looks like the night blooming cereus in my old world but instead of white petal both have neon yellow. It looks like lamp at night. Both of the flowers only bloom at night.

The price also are different because of their usage. The night flower can be used as an insect repellent and it is one of the common flower found in the night garden of Calum and dark garden of Calum, just east from here.  On the other hand the nightmare flower is one of the ingredient to be use in Despair potion and some paralytic type of solution. The nightmare flower can be found only within the dark garden.

For prices, night flower is just 5 small silver coins per 15 pieces of full bloom flower on the other hand the nightmare flower’s price is 1 small gold coin.

I throw the pouch towards Garrel’s face  with gust spell as a support but he managed to catch it before it hit his face.

It took me 5 months to gain master mastery to the remaining skills that I have. The chameleon,  master sword bearer and TQS unleash was mastered 2 months ago while the Titania’s Stride was mastered yesterday evening.

I still have time. I enter to the red zone proper. From small bushes to tress, everything is color red. When one goes down from the  10 meter hill, one must be careful for the land is plain. No rocks or anything, one can’t hide but there are several entrances or path aside from the one in front of me which I assumed it would be toward the dark zone.  I walk towards the path in my left side. After a couple minutes I arrived into big circular ground. The trees are encircling in trunk to trunk manner which is impossible to pass  through unless one will cut all of it.

At the center was four dead rank S horned rabbit. Their head was eaten by gnawing. There is a rank SSS rabbit few meters away from which is approximately 300 pounds . Height is around 7′ and 7′ length. The Rabbit look at me while the eyeball was still stuck within its mouth.  The rabbit immediately use the rush skill. Fromm 20 meters the gap between the rabbit and I became 2 meters. I immediately use slide step several times then when I was on its left side I activate the triple point but the rabbit’s reaction was so fast that it managed to hit the tip of my sword by its tail. The rabbit jumped backward and open its mouth then a huge ball of wind came out from its mouth hit the huge tree at my back. Then the rabbit jump for about 7 meters from the ground and from above it used the skill called body slam. I activate Titania’s Stride and manage to evade the slam. I realized that the rabbit stayed in the crater for about 10 seconds before it get up. I murmured, ” I just need timing”

The rabbit open its mouth and suctioned the wind within the surrounding. I hastily activate the Titania’s Stride then when I was about 2 feet away from the break point I immediately activate the slide step and now I am at its left side. I used the quintuple point and hit the hard palate. Blood spurts everywhere and the rabbit is groaning with pain. It jump for about 10 meters from the ground and uses the body slam. I did not use the Titania’s stride until its abdomen is 2 feet away from my head.  A loud bang can be heard and several dust and debris are floating around making it impossible to see. I use the Titania’s stride and move towards the rabbit’s neck area. While the rabbit is still facing down, I immediately perform the TQS unleash. Fifteen thrust was released and accurately hit  the back of its neck. The Rabbit squeal sharply then it spasm while the blood flows from its neck and few minutes later it stop. I thrust my hunting sword towards the hole on its neck and separated the spine from the spine. I just want to make that its dead. I smell the Rank S rabbit but there is no smell so I place the carcass in my advance storage.

I could smell the gastric flower scent. I look around and I saw the stomach of one of the rank S rabbit’s carcass. The other three stomach was already cut. It seems like the Rank SSS rabbit eat the gastric flower of whatever reasons. I incised the stomach from the lesser curvature and saw the flower. The flower’s vitality  is different from the last one I got. The flower has a deep blue color and when the rays of the sun makes contact to the flower, the flowers release more fruity smell.  I inspect all three flowers, based on the characteristics of the flowers, all the flower are grade 1.

I walk towards the bloodless ground and meditate. After two hours, I think I hit a bottleneck. The veins of my neck can be visualized clearly and my respiration increases as I withstand the pain to push through, just to reached the mortality of 200 plus. Another 3 hours when I heard the bell ringing, ” Orbis.”

I took me one day to recuperate. Using the TQS unleash almost drain my energy. The consumption of energy is worst than the magic. I stand up from meditating stance and went outside the chamber area. I was about 10 meters away from the gate when suddenly a spectral chain bind my whole body. Then seconds later it was gone. The entrance towards the dark zone disappear in front of me. By disappearing, it looks like a glass that was shattered.

I don’t know what the hell is happening.

I can sense that there is a growing energy towards the path to my right. I walk towards that path and what I saw was very morbid.  15 rabbits with ranks S and SS are gnawed by the rabbit that is glowing and growing.

Several body parts are scattered everywhere.

The smell of the blood is very strong and most of the lower rank rabbit died recently.  After a few seconds the rabbit squeal sharply that makes me paralyze. The rabbit keep growing and one can see it grossly. It stop growing after 10 minutes and luckily the effect of the paralysis is gone.

This must be a rank master rabbit. The fur is jet black. Its eyes are black. It has two horns: one in on its forehead and one on its snout.

I activate Titania’s stride and use the triple point but the rabbit coil and start to roll. The wind was being suctioned towards the rolling rabbit then eventually it burst from the center, making a strong wind wave which pushes my entire body and hit the tree then immediately I activate the chameleon skin.

The rabbit was bewildered because I disappeared but after 5 seconds the rabbit open its mouth towards my direction and a giant ball of wind appeared from its mouth. Using the trunk of the tree, I use slide step several times and evade it to my  right side then I activate the Titania’s stride towards the rabbit’s front and  use the TQS to its hard palate but the rabbit interrupted the technique by hitting me with its tail.

I was hit on my left lower mid axillary line. I was thrown like a rug doll then  vomited blood. I activate  the chameleon skin. The  rabbits became frantic because of blood gushing and spurting coming from its hard palate. It squeal so sharply and my skill was dispel.

I was near with the carcasses of the rabbits so I control my breathing and pray that the blood of the other rabbit will mask my smell.

Thirty minutes have passed and the paralyzing effect disappear. I could hear the footsteps of the rabbit rushing towards my direction then I stand immediately but the rabbit  is already jumping 10 meters from the ground and use the body slam towards my direction. I immediately activate the Titania’s stride to evade it. When its body hit the ground the crater that it create is twice as big as the rank SSS I fought earlier. It is around 6 meters in diameter.

My vision is getting hazy. I used  my sword as a pole to maintain my balance. I use my remaining strength  and activate the Titania’s stride, during the break of the stride I was already 2 meters above the neck of the rabbit then I use to TQS unleash and 15 fast and accurate thrust was unleashed in a matter of 2 breath then I fell and landed on its back. Then I fell unconscious.

I heard something. “ting, ting, ting” I heard woman’s voice. When I open my eyes I saw the ball of energy in front of me. All of the sudden one chain was cut and dissipate into thin air, then several bells are ringing.

I slowly woke up from reality. It was already:

Shit! I sleep for almost fifteen days. I need to return now, but first where is the master rabbit? I checked the surrounding but all I saw and smell are rotten flesh from the carcasses of the rabbits. I sigh, that was waste of time.

Did someone use buffer on me or maybe its the effect of the energy ball leaking inside prison. I looked at the multiple cast talent then I smile, ” thank God,”. During my training in spell, I attempted to cast at least 2 water balls but I always fail. Out of 300 attempt, I only succeed twice. Although I succeed, the ball only last for 3 seconds then it break.

It seems like it will automatically rearrange. Maybe, I managed to activate the storage when I touched the carcass of the rabbit. I checked several carcasses for any gastric flower. Out of 15 rabbits only 7 has grade 1 flowers. Although some flowers are grade 1, most of it are damage: broken stalk, only one petal left and worst, it was flattened during the rampaged.

Ch.19 Sound of Silence part 2

Month:7  4^th  18 day 1200 AD Time: 6 hours

Eight days had passed. Within the given time, I was watching the behavior of rank A to AAA horned rabbit. The color of the fur of rank A – AAA horned rabbit are pink. The height is 5′ and the length is 7′. The weight of rank A is approximately 51-60 pounds. Rank AA would be 61-70 pounds and rank AAA is  around 71 -100 pounds. They have several additional ability, unlike the previous ranks which only add two successive wind burst,  rank A, AA and AAA has  only one additional skill and that is body slam. They will jump as high as 10 meters then using their enormous body they will slam towards the ground. I ‘ve seen a crater with a one meter depression in it. Just thinking about being flattened. I can’t aggro everyone or if I do I will die. There are currently  50 rabbits near the river bank  so I can’t go there. I am just glad there are several land elevations, huge rocks that can be use as a shield and hiding. I move forward towards the entrance to the red zone. I saw a lone rank AAA rabbit lying on its front side. I was thinking to kill it from above, so I move closer until I was at the edge of the cliff. While I was jumping I activated the septuple point and hit accurately on the back of the rabbit. I almost land on the head of the rabbit. I was able to use my hand using the gust spell to slightly elevate my entire bodies for a couple of inches then I roll on the ground, ” that was dangerous!”

The ground was shaking, I can hear several giant footsteps coming towards my direction. I hurriedly place the rank AAA rabbit’s carcass in my advance storage and quietly  run towards the next zone.

I was in the midway towards the red zone. I stop and   flicked my finger and retrieved the carcass of the Rank AAA. When I smell its mouth, ” Just as I thought.” According to the book that I’ve read, one will know if the rabbit has the gastric flower when the smell of its own breath is smell like fruit. I laugh because the smell is very similar to a person having diabetic ketoacidosis. I roll the rabbit to its back and use a percussion in order to identify the anatomical location of the stomach. Usually it has a tympanic sounds.  Once I locate it, I use my hunting sword since I don’t have any knife with me. I use a vertical incision.  I first incise the skin, this its subcutaneous,  muscles then I arrived at the organ. I gently incise the lesser curvature then open it. I saw the flower. The flower looks like a sunflower.  The color of the involucre is dull purple. The color of the petals is dull blue. The stem is also dull blue with the length of 9 inches  and lastly the disc florets color is dull green. Based on this characteristics the flower is just grade 8. I grade it low because according to  the book of botany, the fuller the color the higher the potency.

I place back the flower and the carcass in my advance storage. I meditated  and after 4 hours of headache and muscle pain for raising ones maturity, I can hear the chime continuously ringing, ” Orbis”

The reason why I allocated my point this way is because I want to learn two movement skills from the scroll that I got from the library’s garbage basket,  namely the Titania’s Stride and Chameleon Skin. The chameleon skin requirement is 500 int, 400 sense, 400, concentration, 500 charisma and must have a maturity of 130 and above. The  Titania’s stride has a harsher requirement: Agility 450, Concentration 400, Int 500, willpower 400, Endurance 300, accuracy 300 and dexterity 300.  Here is a catch, this skill can only be learned when one meet the requirement, two the maturity should be at least 150 to 180. One can’t learn beyond the given maturity and next is the age of the learner should be between 10 years old and 19 years old.

According the scroll, this skill was given by fairy queen Titania. This requirement was made based on the pact she made by Lorence Cardeen the male human and Loalde the moonlight elf, ” huh? moonlight elves? Based on the history written by some scholar there are only wood, light, dark and  high elves, What the hell is  moonlight elves?

I close the scroll and place it back in my back.

There several movement skill that can bought and acquire from the major clan or nobility but majority of them uses force such example are rabbit’s rush skill,  lightning step, barbarian rush, stampede. The only similar characteristic with the Titania’s stride is the linearity. Basically when one activate the Titania’s stride and the prior skill mentioned, the user can only move in straight line. The big difference is sound. When Titania is trained in Master level combined with high maturity with high designated attributes, no one can even hear the footsteps unless of course  if the opponent has high dexterity and sense plus any skill that can increase once physical reaction.

The Chameleon skin is good in camouflage. Like any hidden type of skills it can be affected by the opponents charisma, sense and concentration then a chime can be heard.

I closed my eyes and picture out the different steps in succeeding the Titania’s stride. According to the book I need to equally distribute my energy to my entire body. A steam came out from my body and all of the sudden the pain specifically from my 4 limbs. It felt like I was drag by two horses in opposite direction.  Three hours have passed since the pain started. Blood is coming out from my nose and my ears. Then I vomited blood. My skin became so red then my surrounding became dark.

I don’t how long have been asleep.  I heard a woman singing, “What an angelic voice” I murmured.  Then all of the sudden I can fell someone is gently  touching my cheek. The hand was cold, “wake up……Orbisssss…….”

I wake up hastily and look around but  no one is around. My hair on my back are all standing. I am having a gooseflesh, “Orbis.”

Ch.18 Sound of Silence part 1

I went to the west gate and let the guard have my  Guild ID card then return it.

I was running with steady momentum towards the purple meadows. I reached the purple meadow within an hour. It seems like by raising my attribute, I am also raising my energy reservoir.

There are several F, E and D hopping all around but I did not see any rank C rabbit.

According to the books I’ve read. The forest of silence is the home of the horned rabbit lineage so I went directly to the entrance to the forest of silence. It only takes 10 minutes walk and I am already at the green zone of the forest. The forest is divided into  4 zones. Near the entrance is the green zones wherein rank C, B, H are residing. The caution/yellow zone wherein rank A, AA,AAA are residing. Next is the Red zone wherein rank S and SS are residing then Dark zone wherein SSS and Masters are residing.

The green zone correspond to its surrounding. It is very green. The greenery is also  lush. There are several rank C, B, and H roaming around.I was at the top of the hill. I could see the beautiful scenery. In order  to enter into the zone proper, I need to jump down. The height of the hill is around 5 meters. I jump slowly and landed slowly due to the spell gust. Because of the talent maneuver, I can freely cast the spell and place it on my lower half. I was able to focus the gust on my lower extremity  and when I touched the ground in circular way the grass sway in abduction.

I was able to cast a water ball but the moment when it  was about to form a ball of water it just quickly  became an energy. It likes a punctured balloon then filling it with water. I quickly dispel it since it is waste of energy. Suddenly a rank C  rabbit dash  towards my direction. I used the slide step and slide towards its left side and I use a basic thrust and accurately hit the back of its neck and swing it a little to separately separate its spine to the rest of its body.  Another two dash again towards my direction which I killed in similar manner as the other one. I placed all three in my intermediated storage. Only two left. I did not really kill the rabbit that did not show an aggression.

I’ve been walking for about two hours. I heard a river so I went to where the sound is. I saw two rank C and one rank B rabbit.  When they saw me, the two rank C immediately open its mouth and a burst of air came out and targeted me. Even though the burst of air is fast, the distance between me and the origin of attack is approximately 15 meters. It gives me an ample of time to evade it. I did not even use the  slide step skill.  The two rank C rabbit ran towards my direction then few meters away from me they use rush skill.  Two feet away from them I use the slide step 4 times in one breath  and evade the right rank C’s attack. I was already beside the rabbit and I use the triple point and accurately skewer both rabbits neck. The blood the rank C rabbits flow then it undergoes  spasm. I placed both of it in my intermediate  storage room.

The only difference between the rank C , B and H is their  weight. The weight of  rank B horned rabbit start around 26 – 40 pounds.  The rank B rabbit open its mouth fire wind burst in three succession. Only one wind burst manage to hit the fuller of my weapon then it ran towards my direction but it jump and coil in the mid air. It rotate very fast towards my direction.  I use a slide step but this damn vermin artistically followed the path of which I slide. I managed to cover my chest with the fuller of my sword and when the rabbit hit the fuller, I was pushed 6 meters backwards, ” Shit!  This is very difficult! I can feel the air was been suction.  The suction was coming from the Rank B rabbit.  I use slide step several time. Instead to  sliding away from the rabbit, I slides  in a circular path until I was already his back I use the triple point twice  and hit the back of its neck then the rank B rabbit died.

I place the rabbit inside the intermediate storage.

Next, would be the gastric flower, this flower can only be harvested inside the stomach of a rank A – S rabbits. I saw several rank H rabbit near the river bank. I walk towards the opposite side. I hid behind the big rock until I reach entrance towards the yellow zone. Immediately walk  towards the entrance. It looks like a cave.  I did not see any footsteps in here. It seems like the rabbits don’t go the next place.

I meditate for about five hours then a chime and bell are ringing.  My head was about to break and my respiration increases to 40 cycle per minutes until I heard a click sound then another bell sound can be heard. After a few minutes, my respiration return to normal, “Orbis”

Although, my current title gave me 15 points in total, still how can I compared to those people who were blessed with heavenly, divine or cosmic title, “sigh.” I will just work hard then. Let me allocate it.
